JA Youth Development Program provides an extended and progressive learning experience in 3 phases for participating students to equip themselves with essential career life skills for their success in the future workplace.
Program length: 4-10 hours (OLE learning time)
Target participants: Form 4 and Form 5 students
Class size: 150 students (in groups of 15 – 20 students)
Phase 1: JA Success Skills (II)
JA Success Skills (II) introduces the developments in the employment market and help students build their personal brand through practical job search and interview tools and skills. A leading HR will share with participants the employment requirements and job opportunities in the local coffee industry. Students will have the opportunity to experience one-to-one mock interviews and develop their personal action plans under the guidance of business volunteers. Mock interviews will mimic scenarios as if the students are applying for a real job at a Starbucks coffee shop.
Phase 2: Workplace Induction @Starbucks
After their participation in Phase 1, students who are interested in getting to know more about Starbucks could apply for the opportunity to take part in a half-day workplace induction program to be held at Starbucks office and training centre. Activities will include organization tour, presentation, role play, coffee tasting and coffee brewing.
Phase 3: Sharing Session @ Starbucks
Ten students will be selected from Phase 2 to join the lunch sharing session with District Manager or Function Heads of Starbucks Hong Kong. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Starbucks partners about career planning and goal setting in real life.
